Malik Willis (Arizona Cardinals):
First of all, kudos to Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur who completely changed the trajectory of Malik Willis career. Willis looks like a completely different, more polished player than he was in Tennessee, albeit in a limited sample size. Connecting the dots here. Of all the teams linked to Malik Willis, the Cardinals are the closest to being a contender while also having money available. The fact that Mike LaFleur's brother Matt was coaching Malik Willis gives him the inside edge as well. He'll have an endorsement he trusts from Brother Matt in knowing how good Willis is, but also for Malik, having the familiarity of a LaFleur brother that he can trust with the next stage of his career.
Kyler Murray (Minnesota Vikings):
The Vikings are getting bailed out in a big way here. Former GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah didn't leave the Vikings in good financial shape. They also were seemingly stuck to a QB that may not be a franchise guy. They couldn't afford to take a big swing at another QB that could improve their roster. That's why having the opportunity to sign an arguably Top 15 Quarterback for the league minimum is such a windfall. It's a no-brainer for them, and frankly it's the best spot for Kyler Murray. Murray arrives on a team that already has a Superstar Wide Receiver in Justin Jefferson, bookend Offensive Tackles. Plus a HC who has the reputation of being a QB whisperer. This makes too much sense for all parties involved and gives Kyler his best shot at playing his way into another big contract next off-season.
RB Kenneth Walker III (Kansas City Chiefs):
There's too much smoke this off-season about the Kansas City Chiefs being in the market for a Runningback. The Chiefs have tried re-tread Runningbacks and cheap options over the years to manufacture a run game. It hasn't worked, and from everything we're reading, the Chiefs are planning to fix that in a big way. I remember the Superbowl against the Bucs where the Chiefs OL looked so bad, that in the off-season they overcorrected to fix the problem. Bringing in Joe Thuney, Orlando Brown Jr. and then drafting Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith in the draft. Well it feels like they will over correct the problem once again, by bringing in the best available RB on the market. Even if it comes with a big price tag.
RB Travis Etienne Jr. (New Orleans Saints):
The New Orleans Saints have an exciting young QB in Tyler Shough and a #1 WR in Chris Olave. Outside of that, they don't have a trusty #2 WR or a consistent run game. A big splash like Etienne makes a ton of sense here especially because he can also provide in the pass game. It's time to move on from Kamara, and Etienne would allow them to not force an early pick on a RB like Jeremiyah Love, who may not even be on the board when they pick in the 1st round. I still think they take a 3rd or 4th round RB to supplement Etienne as well.
RB Tyler Allgeier (Denver Broncos):
Sean Payton loves to the run ball. He often loved having a dynamic duo in New Orleans. Since arriving to Denver he has been trying to find a duo he trusts. He tried with JK Dobbins but now coming off another injury, I don't think he brings him back. He likes RJ Harvey but more as a change of pace not a lead back. Tyler Allgeier makes a ton of a sense. Young, doesn't have too much tread on the tires since he played behind Bijan Robinson, and in his one year as the lead back racked up over 1,000 yards as a rookie RB. Would also help them tremendously at the goalline.
WR Alec Pierce (New England Patriots):
If we believe some of the off-season chatter, Alec Pierce market will be expensive, and the Patriots aren't willing to get to that pricetag. Maybe I'm being naive, but the 30 million a year stuff sounds silly. Ultimately New England makes a ton of sense, has a need and should be looking to maximize their window while Drake Maye is the best contract in the league. I would have penciled the Titans in here since they have the means, familiarity and need. But the Wan'Dale Robinson stuff scares me with Brian Daboll there. And ultimately both of them may be overpaid.
WR Mike Evans (Baltimore Ravens):
It feels like this has been the Ravens M.O for 25 years. Going out and grabbing veteran receivers. Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin, Deandre Hopkins. They made a major splash to go get Maxx Crosby which is a huge help on defense. It also feels like Jesse Minter in his first year will be looking to draft defensive players so that he can mold the defense to his liking. Signing Mike Evans would be enough to help the offense take a leap next year, and he would give them a different kind of WR than Zay Flowers. For Mike Evans, it gives him a real shot to win another title at the end of his career.
